Two years ago when I had my little boy Tyler I took him along to some of the music classes provided by my local children's centres in Hull. He loved them but they were often over subscribed or only for a select number of weeks.
A number of other parents had noticed the same thing and expressed a desire for more provision of these sort of classes locally for their little ones.
Seeing a gap in the market and having worked in entertainment for many years plus also being a qualified dance teacher I decided to set up my own classes in music and movement for the under 5's.
Rock - a- Tots was formed in January 2011 and has grown from strength to strength. Not only do I hold my own sessions but I also take my classes into the Nurseries in and around the Hull area.
It's even more current that only in the last few months the government has come out with advice to parents that children need at least 3 hrs of physical exercise per day, as in this modern society more children are just sat infront of tv's or playing games consoles.
If children start to exercise from an early age and it's made to be fun and encouraging rather than regimented, this will hopefully give them the knowledge of how important exercise is throughout life.
Run sessions at :- The Church On The Way (Princes Avenue, Hull), Tuesday morning's 10-11am (Term time only)
£1.50 per child.
and at the Priory Children's Centre (Priory Toad, Hull),
Wednesday afternoon's 2-3pm (Term time only)
£2 per child.
I can bring Rock - a - Tots into your nursery and tailer classes and times to your needs. For example you could have a 1 hr class for 1 group or you can have x2 30 minute classes for 2 different age groups ie:- group 1 = Pre-school 3-5yrs
group 2 = Babies/toddlers 1-3yrs.
Or you can have as many classes as you require for your nursery age groups.
